We can help!  Build confidence and skills to help you communicate and speak up!

What do we do?

We meet once a month, in Wellington, Somerset at The Cleve Hotel.

The club follows the guidance of the national Association of Speakers Clubs and uses their manual to help members develop speaking skill and confidence.  This involves every member starting at the same point and working through skill levels, including speech construction, gestures, use of voice and humour.

At an average club meeting there will be some speeches, evaluation of those speeches, an educational section and some impromptu speeches.  We also provide an opportunity to develop chairmanship skills and advanced speaking skills such as the use of visual aids, after dinner speaking and business presentations.

Who are we?

We are the Devon & Somerset Speakers Club, a local group of the national Association of Speakers Clubs.  We help, encourage and empower people to speak up with confidence.  

Speaking could mean standing up in front of an audience or communicating a message at a meeting, feeling confident talking at interview, running a meeting or generally expressing yourself!
